Provenance

Of course you want to be sure that what you are purchasing is, indeed, an item from Doyle’s Sondheim auction. When the auction was still in progress on the 18th, I emailed the folks at Doyle and inquired about provenance. Eunice Kim, Doyle’s Director of Client Services, replied telling me that my itemized invoice serves as legitimate provenance of the items purchased. Those emails follow.

What You Will Receive With Your Purchase

When you purchase one of Sondheim’s books or games, I will send it within 48 hours unless otherwise requested. Once shipped, you will receive a tracking number. Upon request, I will insure the shipment. Along with your Sondheim item, you will receive a copy of my Doyle invoice, a copy of the Sondheim auction lot, a photo of the lot, a copy of my manifest, and a signed letter from me indicating the chain of possession of your item. See below.
