A Special Jules Feiffer Collection

SOLD - This is a very special collection of Jules Feiffer’s wonderful cartoon books. Enjoy all 4 for $550.00. Contact Pat for purchase information.

Passionella

I don’t think it’s a stretch to call this an important book. In 1962, Steve collaborated with Jules Feiffer on the musical The World of Jules Feiffer, which premiered in Huntington, New Jersey in 1962. It starred Dorothy Loudon and Ronny Graham and marked the directing debut of the legendary Mike Nichols! Based on this book, one segment of the production, Passionella, was a "mini-musical" within the musical, about Ella, a chimney sweep who dreams of being an actress. Sondheim wrote both the music and lyrics for that segment. The show’s opening number, "Truly Content" was also penned by Steve. Sondheim also wrote some incidental music to George's Moon, another segment of the show. Price $1,500.00. Contact Pat for purchase information.

Philippe Halsman's Jump Book

"When you ask a person to jump," Halsman wrote, "his attention is mostly directed toward the act of jumping, and the mask falls, so that the real person appears." Everyone who was anyone in 1959 America is here. Except Steve!

The Best Cartoons from Punch

SOLD - Punch, or The London Charivari, was a British weekly magazine of humor and satire established in 1841 by Henry Mayhew and wood-engraver Ebenezer Landells. It was most influential in the 1840s and 1850s, when it helped to coin the term "cartoon" in its modern sense as a humorous illustration. Oversized fun.
